Registration of Approved Assessment CentresThe registration will be carried out by EDI. The organisation will be provided with a username, that as well as a password will be for use by the assessment co-ordination personnel. The username and password can be changed at anytime by EDI (see 'Security' section below). Once registered by EDI as an approved assessment centre, access to the login screen will be available. It should be accessed from the following address: Enter the username and password and select the appropriate institution on the screen below. Then select Login.
Once logged in the following screen will appear:
Student registration overviewRegistration of students will take place at the approved assessment centres. Registration should take place when the student is ready to take the assessment. An appropriate person (assessment co-ordinator) should carry out registration of students. The registration is an online process. During the registration process the assessment co-ordinator can stipulate the time period in which the student may start the assessment, thus allowing pre-registration in advance of the assessment. Upon registration the students will be provided with an individual code which will allow access to the online assessment. Step 1: Student registrationBegin by selecting 'Register Student' from the menu screen (see above). The following screen will appear. It requires completion for each student. See below for notes on completion.
The first two fields will be completed automatically by the system. There is no need to enter any information here. Student ID field: this field typically would be a unique student identifier generated by the organisation (such as matriculation number or staff number). Date of birth, title, first name and surname: these fields should be completed accurately. The first name and surname fields are compulsory. If data is not entered into these fields the system will prompt an entry. Organisation – this field is optional but should be used especially in the event that a student is from an organisation other than the approved assessment centre (for example the name of their employer could be entered here). The address fields are compulsory as contact details are essential for any future communication with the student. Step 2: Setting student access to ABC assessment. This facility is accessed from the same menu as the registration of students (the 'menu' screen). As already mentioned in the overview to this section, the assessment co-ordinator is responsible for allowing the student access to the assessment. To allow access, the student, the assessment and the time when the assessment may be started must be identified. The following screenshot demonstrates the selection process. The assessment co-ordinator may also determine how many times the student can access the assessment. Generally this would only be once.
When the access controls have been determined and the screen above completed the 'Generate Tokens' button should be clicked. The following screen is then displayed.
The unique access token for each student allows the student to access the assessment in the time limit set and for the number of accesses permitted. Students should be given this code. It is case sensitive and should be entered exactly as it appears. This done, the student will gain access to the assessment. Step 3: ResultsThe students will obtain their result at the end of the assessment. The result will be shown in percent on the screen. The assessment co-ordinator will also be able to view the results. From the menu screen (shown above) the assessment co-ordinator should select 'View Data' to allow access to following screen.
From this screen the details of the students registered with the particular approved assessment centre will be available for viewing. This screen allows the assessment co-ordinator to review student data. When the student name is selected the following screen will appear. The information entered at the registration stage as well as assessment data will be available for viewing.
This screen also allows the assessment co-ordinator to update student details. Assessment location URLClick here to go to the student login screen. The address is the same for all exam attempts. EDI will notify assessment centres of any change. Assessment invigilationThe ABC Bookkeeping online assessment should be invigilated as for other assessments. The invigilation of the assessment is the responsibility of the organisation. CertificatesCertificates for students who pass the assessment will be issued by the Association of Accounting Technicians and sent to the students directly. Certificates will be issued on a monthly basis. Pass MarkThe pass mark for the assessment is 70% . Payment for AssessmentsEDI will issue an invoice on a monthly basis. The cost to sit an assessment is £40+VAT of which the approved assessment centre retains £10+VAT. SecurityThe registration of approved assessment centres and students is carried out over a secure link. A username and password are provided to the assessment co-ordinator for the ABC assessment and these should only be given to authorised personnel. These may be changed at any time, for example if there is a change in personnel. Username and password changes can only be made by EDI. For security reasons the system will automatically log out after two hours. If this happens, simply log back in to the system. Technical Specification RecommendationsEDI strongly recommends IE4 or above. Netscape 4 displays incorrectly.. For any queries:Please contact EDI on 01506 602673. |
